Manchester City v Arsenal preview

Manchester City made it 22 matches without defeat in their last match before last weekend's international break, which saw last season's treble winners book their place in the semi finals of the FA Cup with a 2-0 win against Newcastle.

The victory was Pep Guardiola's side's sixth win in their last seven matches, their only dropping of points in that time coming in their last Premier League outing as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

The Citizens are looking to become the first team in English football history to win four consecutive top flight titles, and currently sit third in the Premier League table, though are just a solitary point behind league leaders Arsenal and Liverpool, who are tied on points.

The defending champions have won nine of their last 10 matches at the Etihad in all competitions, and are unbeaten in their last 38 matches at their home stadium dating all the way back to their final game before the mid-season break for the 2022 World Cup.

Arsenal make the trip to Manchester as the Premier League's form team having won each of their last eight matches since the turn of the year.

Mikel Arteta's side capitalised on Liverpool and Manchester City's draw three weeks ago which resulted in both sides dropping points, to climb to the top of the Premier League table following a 2-1 win in a London derby against Brentford.

Only goal difference separates the Gunners from second placed Liverpool, but successfully hunting three points at the Etihad on Easter Sunday would be a real statement to their fellow title challengers, 11 months after defeat at the same stadium derailed their title ambitions last season.

The north London side boast the best away record in the league this season, but have lost each of their last eight matches at the Etihad.

The Gunners have, though, got the better of the Citizens on each of their last two meetings.
