Sources: Man United consider a move for striker who is ‘different’, Tottenham, Arsenal & Chelsea also keen

Manchester United have been doing checks on Ivan Toney, as they consider a move for the Brentford man this summer, HITC understands

Ivan Toney is set to leave Thomas Frank’s side this summer and has been in the sights of the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur for more than 12 months.

HITC understands they all still hold an interest in the Premier League hitman, but they also have and are considering other options.

The 28-year-old made his full England debut on Tuesday night, alongside Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo and Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa, and scored from the penalty spot as Gareth Southgate’s side rescued a 2-2 draw against Belgium at Wembley on Tuesday night.

With Euro 2024 around the corner, there is seemingly going to be one option available after Harry Kane, with Aston Villa’s high-flying striker Ollie Watkins also fighting for that golden ticket to Germany.

After returning from his betting ban in January, Ivan Toney has scored four goals from ten Premier League games.

Rasmus Hojlund, Ivan Toney and Harry Kane

Manchester United are looking to bring in an experienced striker to bolster their attacking options, alongside Rasmus Hojlund and HITC has already revealed that Harry Kane would be their ideal option.

But they appreciate it would be difficult to conclude a deal for the Bayern Munich star – so are assessing other options.

Toney, who was described by Michael Owen as ‘different’, is one of those options that is being looked at by Manchester United and HITC is told that checks have been made about the Bees player.

HITC also understands that West Ham United have thrown their hat into the ring for Toney and have made it known to his representatives that they hold an interest in the England man.
