FC Midtjylland interested in permanent deal for Brentford man

FC Midtjylland are interested in a permanent deal for Brentford’s Emiliano Marcondes.

The 24-year-old joined the Danish Superliga side on loan in September in a move that is due to expire at the end of the month.

Marcondes, who is a former Denmark Under-21 international, has scored three goals in 11 appearances this term.

FC Midtjylland boss Brian Priske has said, as per a report by Sport Witness: “I definitely want to keep him. He’s come with what I knew he contained, and he’s got better and better every day. I have always told Emiliano that I am happy for him and that I believe that we can get him to an even higher level… I hope he chooses to stay here after New Year, but I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

Marcondes has said: “When the Super League is done, I will go on a week’s vacation. Then I will return to England and start training and see if I can get on the team,”

“In the transfer window, a lot of things can happen. There may be replacements here at FCM and at Brentford. So, I’m on standby and I need to see what my role can be at Brentford.”

The attacking midfielder joined Brentford in July 2017 having previously scored 38 goals in 119 games for FC Nordsjælland.

He has struggled to make an impact at Griffin Park since his move to London but could be part of Thomas Frank’s plans when he returns this winter.
