Huddersfield Town attacking winger could be on his way to Besiktas

Huddersfield Town attacking winger Rajiv Van La Parra could be on his way to Besiktas according to Gundem Besiktas.

The Turkish club have also been linked with Everton’s Yannick Bolasie and Southampton’s Mohamed Elyounoussi recently as overseas clubs have until the beginning of September to wrap up their transfer deals.

Transfer talks between Huddersfield and Besiktas are set to continue as the Super Lig club look to bolster their attacking department before their transfer window closes.

The Dutchman wasn’t part of the Terriers’ latest match-day squad against Queens Park Rangers as they drew 1-1 with the London side and he could now be departing for Turkey.

The 28-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Middlesbrough and returned to his parent club last month and seems to be surplus to requirements once more for the recently relegated side who returned to the Championship this summer.

Van La Parra is most likely not in Jan Siewert’s plans going forward so a move to Besiktas could be an option for him with just weeks left of the Turkish window.

Van La Parra is under contract at the John Smith’s Stadium until June 2020 so it may be wise for them to recoup a fee for him as opposed to letting his contract expire and losing him as a free agent next summer.

He joined Huddersfield in 2016 initially on loan but this was made permanent and he has gone on to score 5 goals in 78 appearances but a move abroad seems increasingly likely.
