Bristol City linked with ex-Bradford City and Exeter City man

Bristol City are being linked with a move for Orebro SK goalkeeper Oscar Jansson.

The 28-year-old is apparently on the radar of the Championship side, according to a report by Bristol Live.

The Robins have already signed two goalkeepers this summer, Daniel Bentley and Rene Gilmartin from Brentford and Colchester United respectively, so it is a surprise to see them being after another.

Lee Johnson’s side now have four ‘keepers at the club with Niki Maenpaa and Jojo Wollacott under contract for next season. However, they could depart if rumours of interest in Jansson are true.

Jansson, who is a Sweden international with a single cap to his name, has been with Swedish Allvenskan side Orebro since 2013 and has been a key player for them ever since he moved there.

He started his career in his native country with a spell at Karlalunds before he moved to England to join Tottenham Hotspur in 2007. He never made a senior appearance during his time in London but did gain first team experience during loan stints away at Exeter City, Northampton Town, Bradford City and Shamrock Rovers.

Jansson left Spurs on a permanent basis to join Shamrock in 2012 and won their Young Player of the Year before moving back to Sweden six years ago.

A move to Ashton Gate would be a surprise move considering Bristol City’s current depth in their goalkeeping department.
