Brentford 1-1 Manchester United LIVE REACTION: Mount and Ajer score in stoppage time as Red Devils scrape draw in west London

Manchester United's Champions League hopes were dealt a huge blow as they managed to scrape a 1-1 draw against Brentford.

After being dominated for 90 minutes, Mason Mount scored his first goal for the Red Devils in stoppage time.

It appeared he snatched victory for Erik ten Hag's men after the Bees hit the woodwork four times.

However, Kristoffer Ajer equalised immediately after Mount's goal to ensure Thomas Frank's men gained a point.

  • Frank delighted with performance

Brentford manager Thomas Frank was full of praise for his side's performance in their 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "We all know there should have been only one winner of that game, and that could only be us.

"Then you go 1-0 down after 96 minutes and you are thinking football is brutal, and I almost lost faith in the football god.

"What a performance. We are facing a full strength Man United, our entire back four are out, our number six out and our replacement left-back out, and we completely dominated the game.

"These players deserve so much praise. They are a fantastic group of human beings to work with.

"We had the most shots we've ever had in the Premier League.

"How we didn't win that game is unbelievable."

  • Poor Hojlund

As opposed to Ivan Toney, who was in and around the Man United box all game.

Rasmus Hojlund barely got a sniff at the other end.

In fact, the majority of his touches game nowhere near the Brentford box.

  • Ten Hag reflects on Manchester United's performance

Man United manager Erik ten Hag has been speaking to Sky Sports about his side's 1-1 draw with Brentford.

He said: "If you are winning, you shouldn't give it away.

"Normally, we are strong in these situations, and we had to [see it out], so that's very disappointing.

"The equaliser was absolutely unnecessary even if we maybe didn't deserve our goal.

"In the final third, we were not secure and slow.

"Second balls and defending, we were not good.

"They were more aggressive and had more energy.

"We should all take responsibility for this."

  • Toney a menace throughout

Ivan Toney might not have scored, but he was brilliant for Brentford.

He won most of his battles, causes all sorts of problems and grabbed an assist.

The forward was unlucky with his offside goal but could have done better with some other chances.

  • Toney reflects on draw with Man United

Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been speaking to Sky Sports about the Bees' 1-1 draw with Man United.

    He said: "It's dropped points.

"We just looked at the stats, and we don't know how we've not scored more than one goal.

"We've hit the woodwork four times, but it all means nothing if we draw the game.

"I don't think we were clinical enough, and I include myself.

"We are very disappointed because we feel like we should have got three points."
